We are currently seeking two (2) Mobile Maintenance Supervisors to join their expanding McIlvenna Bay project team. This is a full-time position on a rotational schedule and based at the McIlvenna Bay project site. The McIlvenna Bay Cu-Zn-Au-Ag deposit is one of the largest undeveloped VHMS deposits in Canada. Foran recently completed (2022) a feasibility study for the deposit and is undertaking advanced exploration and detailed Engineering activities this year. The McIlvenna Bay deposit’s core commodities are critical for the global transition to green energy and Foran aims to extract these critical minerals in a sustainable manner by empowering local communities, contributing to circular economies and protecting the environment for future generations. Foran Mining has recently completed a positive feasibility study for the McIlvenna Bay project and have started advanced design, permitting and preliminary construction activities to build underground mining and milling facilities as well as the supporting infrastructure. A Mobile Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of mechanical personnel in overseeing and coordinating mechanical maintenance activities and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems and equipment and maintaining compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Compensation and Benefits: • We offer a competitive starting salary range of $100,000- $115,000/year based on experience and qualifications. • Employer funded extended group medical and dental plan. • RSP Plan with 6% Company match to employee contributions. • Annual discretionary short term incentive bonus rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success. Bonus is based on a percentage of base salary. • On the job training from Equipment Vendor specializing in Battery Equipped Vehicles will be provided.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of heavy-duty mechanics, BEV mechanics, mechanical technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and implement timely repairs.
  • Ensure the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Optimize maintenance processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote and enforce a safety-first culture, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain department to maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and consumables required for mechanical maintenance.
  • Monitor spare parts usage and implement cost-effective strategies to optimize inventory levels.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and equipment malfunctions, developing effective solutions to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Facilitate training sessions for mechanical technicians to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements to improve mechanical maintenance processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Production, Maintenance, and Engineering, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.
  • Generate regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and key performance indicators.

Job Qualifications & Skills

  • Heavy Duty Mechanic or Industrial Electrician Red Seal certification.
  • 3-5 yrs. experience as a Trade Supervisor in a mining or heavy industry setting.
  • Experience with Underground Battery Equipped Vehicle (BEV) considered an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of mining equipment, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a diverse maintenance team.
  • Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make prompt decisions to address maintenance challenges.
  • Familiarity with budget management and cost control in maintenance operations.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and their implications for maintenance activities at mine sites.

Physical Demands

  • Manual Labor: Mechanical Supervisors may need to engage in manual labor, such as lifting heavy objects, using hand tools, and performing physically demanding tasks during equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Walking and Standing: The job often requires extensive walking and standing to inspect equipment, oversee maintenance activities, and move around the mine site.
  • Climbing: Climbing ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms may be necessary to access equipment and perform maintenance tasks at elevated heights.
  • Environmental Conditions: Mechanical Supervisors work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow, depending on the mine site's location and climate.
  • Work Schedule: The position may involve working long hours, shift work, and being on-call to address emergency maintenance issues that can disrupt normal sleep patterns.

Tools & Equipment

  • Communication Devices: Various communication devices are essential for the supervisor to stay connected with different teams, including two-way radios, mobile phones, and walkie-talkies.
  • Safety Equipment: various equipment such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Devices.
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System: such as CMMS software that allows the Maintenance Supervisor to track maintenance schedules, manage work orders, and generate reports.

Note: Foran will provide training for use of any tools & equipment listed above.
