Foran Mining has recently completed a positive feasibility study for the McIlvenna Bay project and have started advanced design, permitting and preliminary construction activities to build underground mining and milling facilities as well as the supporting infrastructure. A Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for executing mechanical maintenance activities and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems and equipment while maintaining compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Compensation and Benefits: • We offer a competitive wage of $47.46/hr. • Employer funded extended group medical and dental plan. • RSP Plan with 6% Company match to employee contributions. • On the job training from Equipment Vendor specializing in Battery Equipped Vehicles will be provided.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and implement timely repairs.
- Ensure the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Optimize maintenance processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with industry regulations.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and equipment malfunctions, developing effective solutions to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements to improve mechanical maintenance processes.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.
Job Qualifications & Skills
- Heavy Duty Mechanic and/or Industrial Electrician Red Seal certification.
- 1-3 yrs. experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic and/or Industrial Electrician in a mining or heavy industry setting.
- In-depth knowledge of mining equipment, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and their implications for maintenance activities at mine sites.
