Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM), a modern mining company that wants to change what mining means to people. We are currently seeking four (4) Electricians to join their expanding McIlvenna Bay project team. This is a full-time position with a rotational schedule and based at the McIlvenna Bay project site. Foran Mining has recently completed a positive feasibility study for the McIlvenna Bay project and have started advanced design, permitting and preliminary construction activities to build underground mining and milling facilities as well as the supporting infrastructure. An Electrician is responsible for the safe execution of electrical maintenance activities, ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of electrical systems and equipment. Compensation and Benefits: • We offer a competitive wage of $47.46/hr. • 100% Employer funded extended group medical and dental plan. • RSP Plan with 6% Company match to employee contributions. • On the job training from Equipment Vendor specializing in Battery Equipped Vehicles will be provided.

Job Responsibilities

  • Diagnose electrical issues and malfunctions, and develop effective solutions to address them promptly, minimizing downtime.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and electrical regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Regularly inspect electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to identify potential problems and address them proactively.
  • Collaborate with engineering and management teams to plan and execute electrical projects, upgrades, and installations.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for reference and reporting purposes.
  • Keep updated on best practices, new technologies and safety measures.
  • Be prepared to respond to electrical emergencies, such as power outages or equipment failures, and implement immediate corrective actions.
  • Maintain effective communication with team members, management, and other stakeholders to report progress, discuss challenges, and coordinate activities.

Job Qualifications & Skills

  • Possession of a Red Seal Industrial Electrical certification.
  • 1-3 years of experience working in the mining industry or a similar heavy industry environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, machinery, and equipment commonly used in the mining industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical safety regulations, best practices, and safety protocols to create a safe work environment.
  • Proficient in identifying and resolving electrical issues and malfunctions and making informed decisions on problem-solving strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, management, and other departments effectively.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities to address complex electrical challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Flexibility to handle dynamic situations and changing priorities in a fast-paced mining environment.
  • Knowledge of mining-specific electrical regulations and compliance with local, regional, and national electrical codes.
