Target A was identified by Foran from a large loop, deep penetrating, time-domain electromagnetic survey (TDEM) in 2013. The response was modelled as a group of EM conductor plates similar in size as that from the McIlvenna Bay deposit, with the top of the principal conductor plate identified below 900 metres vertical depth.
In 2014 Foran conducted an initial drill test of Target A. Two holes were drilled, with the first abandoned due to excessive flattening. The second hole reached a depth of 1,683 metres. Subsequent borehole electromagnetic surveying indicates a strong off-hole conductor below the trace of the second drill hole at a downhole depth of 1200 metres.
Given the size and nature of Target A, this area remains a high-priority for comprehensive drill-testing by Foran.
