Foran Mining has recently completed a positive feasibility study for the McIlvenna Bay project and have started advanced design, permitting and preliminary construction activities to build underground mining and milling facilities as well as the supporting infrastructure. A Warehouse Clerk will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse at the mine site. They play a crucial role in inventory management, material handling, and maintaining accurate records. The Warehouse Clerk ensures that materials and supplies are readily available to support mining activities while adhering to safety and inventory control protocols.
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments of materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain an organized and efficient system for storing, cataloging, and tracking inventory.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Safely operate forklifts, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.
- Ensure that materials are stored in appropriate locations, considering factors such as size, weight, and compatibility.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks and trailers.
- Process and fulfill internal requisitions and orders for materials and supplies from various departments.
- Prepare and package items for shipment or delivery to designated locations within the mine site.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and material movements.
- Generate reports and documentation related to inventory status, order requests, and consumption rates.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while handling and storing materials, including hazardous materials.
- Ensure that all inventory and warehouse activities comply with environmental and safety regulations.
- Verify the accuracy of shipments and resolve issues with suppliers as needed.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free from safety hazards.
- Perform routine maintenance on warehouse equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Be familiar with emergency response procedures and participate in drills or real emergencies as required.
- Collaborate with other departments, including procurement, maintenance, and operations, to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
Job Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or technical training in warehousing or logistics is a plus.
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Warehouse Clerk or in a similar role, preferably in a mining or industrial environment.
- Forklift certification and experience in operating material handling equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer applications.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to material handling and warehousing.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy objects when required.
