Dan Myerson

Executive Chairman

Mr. Myerson, previously head of Glencore’s Canadian zinc business, has vast global experience in the metals and mining sector; including refined metal and concentrates trading, mining and smelting operations, and capital markets. Before joining Glencore, Mr. Myerson worked for Morgan Stanley in their Equity Capital Markets team based out of Sydney, Australia. He holds a Master of Finance degree from the Queensland University of Technology.


Darren Morcombe

Executive Director

Mr. Morcombe joined the Board of Directors in mid-2010 and was appointed Chairman shortly thereafter. Mr. Morcombe has more than 20 years of international experience in a variety of roles in in the natural resource sector. This includes over 10 years in senior roles with Normandy Mining and Newmont Mining Corporation in the areas of financing, treasury, mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Morcombe is the founder of Springtide Capital Pty. Ltd., a private investment company specializing in micro-cap listed companies, venture capital and resource-oriented companies. He was Chairman and a major shareholder of European Gold Refineries SA, Europe’s largest gold refinery, and Director of AGR Matthey, one of the world’s largest gold refineries. He retired from this position in 2008 and these businesses are now owned by Newmont Mining Corporation. Mr. Morcombe is a major shareholder of several public companies.

David M. Petroff

Director

Mr. Petroff joined the Board of Directors in 2012 and has over 30 years’ experience in the mining and investment industry, including holding senior management and financial positions with several prominent, publicly-traded mining companies and working in Investment Banking with a major Canadian investment dealer.

Mr. Petroff was previously President, CEO and Director of Jaguar Mining Inc. From early 2009 until its acquisition by Nyrstar NV in mid-2011, he held the role of President, CEO, and Director of zinc producer Breakwater Resources Ltd. Mr. Petroff, who holds a B. Math from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, also sits on the Board of Pancontinental Gold Corporation.

Jean Rogers

Director

Dr. Jean Rogers is the Founder and Former CEO of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), which she led for 8 years. The SASB is a non-profit dedicated to enhancing the efficiency of the U.S. capital markets by fostering high quality disclosure of material sustainability information that meets investor needs and enhances public trust in companies. Under Dr. Rogers’ leadership (2010-2018), the SASB developed sustainability accounting standards for 79 industries with the involvement of 3,000 stakeholders, raised over $25M for ESG research on materiality, launched an education program in sustainability accounting, and convened an Investor Advisory Group comprised of 27 leading asset owners and managers with more than $33T in AUM, all advocating for market standards.

Prior to founding SASB, Dr. Rogers worked for more than a decade in sustainable development for Arup, a global engineering consultancy, and for Deloitte in management consulting. She holds degrees in civil and environmental engineering, and is a former Loeb Fellow at Harvard University. Dr. Rogers was named by Barron’s as one of the Top 20 Influencers of Sustainable Investing in 2018. Dr. Rogers is currently an author and advisor to several private and public companies, an academic advisor to INSEAD’s Hoffmann Global Institute for Business and Society, and a visiting fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School where she mentors social entrepreneurs.

Maurice Tagami

Director

Mr. Tagami joined the Board of Directors in 2011 and has over 30 years’ experience in mining development and operations. Mr. Tagami holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and is a Professional Engineer with APEGBC. During his career, has played a significant role in the metallurgical and project management of numerous open pit, underground and heap leach projects worldwide.

Mr. Tagami is the Technical Ambassador at TSX-listed Wheaton Precious Metals, the largest metals streaming company in the world. Previously, he held the positions of President and CEO, with Keegan Resources Inc. and Senior Project Manager (Onca Puma Project) with Canico Resource Corp. (acquired by CVRD in 2005). Mr. Tagami served on the Board of Brett Resources Inc. (acquired by Osisko Mining Corp. in 2010) and currently sits on the Board of Maple Gold Mines Ltd.

Wayne G. Wouters

Director

The Honourable Wayne G. Wouters, PC, OC, brings extensive experience, strategic insight, and expertise to Foran, developed over his distinguished career in public service, including five years as Clerk of the Privy Council of Canada.  

Mr. Wouters has deep roots in Saskatchewan. He was born and raised in the province, and he began his public sector career in 1977 with the provincial government. He served as Director of the Energy Policy Branch in the Department of Mineral Resources in the Government of Saskatchewan before then serving for multiple decades in various roles within the Federal Government of Canada. During his tenure, Mr. Wouters held various appointments including Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development, Deputy Minister of Labour, and Secretary to the Treasury Board before being appointed as the Clerk of the Privy Council in 2009. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2017, in recognition of his many years as a dedicated and insightful public servant.

Mr. Wouters received his Bachelor of Commerce degree in economics from the University of Saskatchewan as well as a Master of Arts in economics from Queen’s University. Mr. Wouters also sits on the Boards of Champion Iron Ltd., Blackberry Ltd., and Canadian Utilities Ltd.

Mr. Wouters currently holds the position of Strategic and Policy Advisor with McCarthy Tetrault, LLP.
